Joiku Resort - The House of Northern Lights

"We spent four wonderful days in December at this beautiful villa with our family (two adults and two children). The property is modern, well-designed, and fully equipped, including a spacious kitchen. Highlights include the indoor sauna, outdoor jacuzzi (comfortably warm even at –12°C), and an EV charger. The beds were exceptionally comfortable, and we especially enjoyed the fireplace and the expansive window wall (it is huge!) offering breathtaking views of the snow-covered lake. During our stay, we were fortunate to witness the Aurora Borealis on two nights (for long long hours) visible directly from the villa or while relaxing by the fire - an unforgettable experience. The location is convenient, with a grocery store (K-market) and several restaurants just a short walk away. The hosts at Nordaway were consistently responsive and helpful. We highly recommend this villa for a truly memorable stay."

"Very clean and well maintained apartment. The apartment had all the amenities that were promised. Fast and helpful communication with the host. I received clear instructions how to check-in and access the apartment. No stress with that at all. The best thing was the amazing location with the stunning views from the villa. I felt like I was in the middle of nature watching the stunning fells & northern lights, but still all the services were within 5min walking distance.

The jacuzzi & sauna were easy to use and beds were very comfortable. Overall beautiful place, and would highly recommend!"

"Stunning place with an amazing lookout into the lake. You can see everyone pursuing various activities and the aurora lookout is amazing. Location is also perfect. We had one day that almost reached -40c and our car wouldn't start so the fact that we could just walk to the shops easily was amazing!"

"This place is pure magic. We absolutely fell in love with Äkäslompolo. It‘s such a nice and cute village, everything you might need, but still so calm and so special. This house is perfect for bigger groups, has its private sauna and an amazing whirlpool. Every morning we did Sauna and Ice Bath in the lake just in front of the house, we loved it so much! And the Northern Lights: We saw them every single day, right in front of the house. A dream come true! A really surprise: the reindeers are just minutes away. My kids were very happy! We for sure will be back to this gem… We can‘t wait! Thank you for everything!"

“The location of the holiday home is excellent. The infrastructure is very good – numerous activities, a supermarket, restaurants, and sports rentals are all within easy reach. The house is tastefully furnished, very clean, and extremely well equipped. Communication was straightforward, and questions were always answered quickly. There were a few minor issues, but they did not affect the stay in any way. Overall, a very successful stay.”
